So I have recently moved to NYC and the city has become my new home. I am living in an apartment in Long Island and it is beautiful. Except there is one huge problem there is no ventilation. No fans, no circulation creates a huge problem. Already I have a cold and all my roommates are sick. Not having quality ventilation allows for bacteria and viruses to form.
Wind turbine Engineering
Last weekend I am going to Atlantic City for a friend’s bachelor party and I notice that there are wind turbines. There are four wind turbines spinning and one not doing anything. Whoever was the moron that engineered/set up these wind turbines I am sorry to say but you must go back to school. When setting up wind turbines the only way that they can be effective is by spinning to collect the wind and transferring it into energy that can be used. Unfortunately there is a wind turbine which millions of dollars were spent on that isn’t effective. That is some useless spending but I am going to guess that they had to put it into the location that it is in now because of looks. If people want wind turbines use them to their full affect and not just put them up so they can say they put up some wind turbines.
People are so worried about looking good that they don’t really think. Wind turbines are an awesome way to produce energy but they can’t be here or there …
Green Power?
Is buying green power the right way to go? Is buying green power an excuse for power companies to build factories while not having to pay for anything? Green power is a good thing to do first off. It supports the production of wind turbines, solar pvs, biomass plants, and on. But why is it that the utility companies rely on the consumer to have these built? Can’t the utility company use some of there revenue to help build these plants to help out the consumer! So much pressure is put on the individual to change but where real change occurs is at a massive level i.e. the utility companies. Small wind turbine field in whoknowswhere, USA isn’t going to be as efficient as a major utility company supporting/building a alternative energy plant to reduce carbon waste and foreign oil dependency. Green Power is an excuse for utilities to delay the manufacturing of a real Green Power plant. Because 20$ can make a difference even small but a 200 million investment can make a huge impact.
Go Green?
I want to bring up the importance of America relying less on foreign oil. However the fact that we are killing the ozone I am putting into question now. After watching Penn and Teller Bullshit it brought to light many new things. They brought up the fact that people only account for 3% of carbon emissions where the earth is responsible for 97%. I know that humans aren’t helping but to say they are the sole reason for the ozone depletion is a little presumptuous.
Wind turbines

There is huge demand for renewable energy now but the fad right now is wind turbines. Why? In order to have one of these turbines it requires a lot of money, good wind and a lot of space. When I work at events selling and talking about renewable energy people always come up to me and ask about wind turbines. What these people don’t realize is that these wind turbines are much more expensive than solar or the program I am with. For a home to produce enough energy from a wind turbine they would spend roughly 30-50k. Where as buying a solar system for 20k.
However that shouldn’t be the point that I should make. People are so obsessed with buying something to reduce their cost of energy. People need to be less worried about incentives and getting different energy but more worried about how much energy they spend. If a household conserves the amount of energy that they have then that in itself would lower their bills and also reduce the impact on the earth. It is crucial that …
Welcome to Sedao’s Insight
Hello all,
I am going to start releasing my green updates here rather than at my old site sedao15.wordpress.com. You will be able to read about the Mariners, fantasy baseball, and health at my old site but here I will only talk about green related topics. So far I have a page on green incentives and sustainable/renewable products. Once I get settled in I will actually get started but for now just know that I am going to giving my opinions no holds barred.
